Conversation starters: valuing and exploiting diversity in classroom practice
These conversation starters on diversity and inclusion are designed to help teachers and other education professionals appreciate and effectively engage with diversity in their classrooms. The ultimate goal is to foster inclusive learning environments and promote high-quality education.
Teachers can indicate whether they find the cards inspiring for their own conversations and, if they wish, share ideas or examples from their own practice with others. For this resource, the introduction cards and the cards from Series A have been selected. They are intended for group discussions of four to six participants, lasting approximately one and a half to two hours.
These cards can be used by both teacher educators and student teachers. For teacher educators, they serve as a tool to build inclusive learning environments within their institutions. For student teachers, they offer an opportunity to reflect on their internships and consider the role of diversity and inclusion within their teaching practice.
The cards are currently only available in Dutch.
