Discussion methodologies
Open-ended, whole-class discussion can be challenging to facilitate, they are often dominated by individuals, and easily side-tracked. This resource outlines different approaches to facilitating discussion which can support teachers, student-teachers and learners to engage with global justice topics in a structured manner, in order to counteract the challenges of open-ended, whole-class discussion. This resource includes nine different dynamics to facilitate these complex discussions. They are: (1) Structured Responses; (2) Debates; (3) Fishbowl Discussion; (4) Round Robin; (5) Concentric Circles; (6) Dice Discussion; (7) Walking Debates; (8) Ranking Activities; and (9) Gallery Walk.
