Twelve Teaching strategies that promote values communication and clarification

These twelve teaching strategies promote values communication and clarification. They have been selected and tested by teachers and educational specialists from Türkiye, Slovakia, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and can be accessed by following the link and clicking the arrow next to ‘Teaching Strategies’. The age of the students for which these teaching strategies are applicable varies. Teacher educators can thus teach student teachers these teaching strategies, enabling them to include controversial issues, such as equity and diversity, in their internships and future practice.

The website offers a filter to narrow down which specific teaching strategies you might need. Here you can either filter by the group size and/or the desired degree of vividness. The twelve teaching strategies include: 5W1H, Chess Board, Circle Chat, Four Corners, Head Heard Hands, INSERT, Opinion Line, Snowball, SPIDER Web, Think Pair Share, Values Compass, and Values Quadrant. They’re all available in English with an explanatory document for each strategy.

A video for each teaching strategy is accessible through TCI Twinspace on Etwinning. This is however for only for teachers that have access to this European platform for teachers. The website also offers other materials linked to the Atlas of European Values-project, such as teaching materials, theoretical background, and a curriculum framework.
