InFo-TED Academy 2025

On behalf of the International Forum for Teacher Educator Development (InFo-TED) we would like to invite you to our InFo-TED Academy. We invite you as a participant because you are an experienced teacher educator and are, or are willing to become engaged in professional learning about your role with fellow teacher educators with the ultimate goal to contribute to the professional development of (beginning) teacher educators in your country.

The academy aims to empower teacher educators in Europe to be responsible in their own country for mentoring and/or supervising (fellow/beginning) teacher educators. The program of the academy provides a unique opportunity to build networks of teacher educators all over Europe, to further develop professional development programs for teacher educators and to set up a teacher educator research agenda.

Academy: winter, spring, summer and autumn programme

The InFo-TED Academy will be held online and offline between December ’24 and December ’25. In December ’24 (winter) an introductory online meeting will be held, followed by 2 online webinars in spring ’25. In June a live 5-day meeting (summer) will be held with all participants in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. A closing meeting will be held in December ’25 online (autumn). The timeline with the exact dates of the activities can be found at the end of this invitation letter. The academy will consist of a programme with 30 participants from different European countries for example Ireland, England, Scotland, Israel, Norway, the Netherlands, Greece, Portugal and Belgium. The programme contains opportunities to build knowledge on teacher educator professional development, share practical and academic expertise, and to work on future professional development initiatives for teacher educators. The cost of the academy will be 250 euros (travel and accommodation etc are not included).

Expectations for participation

The teacher educators who participate will be expected to:

  • have active support from their employing institutes to join the academy.
  • Join the academy (preferably) with a cooperating teacher educator either from a school or a higher education institute
