Critical Analysis of Practicum Reports

Critical Analysis of Practicum Reports

The Critical Analysis of Practicum Reports is an educational resource designed to enhance student teachers’ reflective and critical thinking regarding equity, equality, and inclusion in teacher education, focusing on practicum experience. Teacher educators can use this activity as a tool to foster deeper engagement with these fundamental principles, encouraging student teachers to critically assess their own perspectives and professional experiences.

In this activity, student teachers analyse findings from research on practicum reports, focusing on the extent to which inclusive, equitable, and egalitarian educational practices are reflected in the documentation of teaching experiences. They are asked to engage in a critical discussion of the data, examining possible reasons behind the trends observed and considering the broader implications for initial teacher education and classroom practice. Furthermore, they are encouraged to propose strategies to ensure that equity, equality, and inclusion become central components of pedagogical approaches in early childhood and primary education.

By participating in this activity, student teachers develop essential analytical and reflective skills, strengthening their ability to integrate inclusive practices into their future teaching.
